Nina Bendre graduated from UW-Milwaukee’s Family Nurse Practitioner program initially entering into the field of Pain Management. More recently she has transitioned to Addiction Medicine in hopes of making positive change in the opioid epidemic which has been so devastatingly impacting our community. Focusing on evidence-based practice, guidance is offered through education, medication therapy, and the most promising innovative treatment options available. Her objectives are to cohesively and compassionately provide an environment to help stabilize the mind, body and spirit so all may lead a life of hope, balance, and positive direction in order to best achieve their chosen goals.

Nicholas Bracciano, MD

Dr. Bracciano graduated from Creighton University and Creighton University Medical School. He pursued an Adult Psychiatry Residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin and graduated in 2019. He completed his Addictions Fellowship through the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Bracciano treats patients with both addiction and mental health concerns, as he believes the complete care for the whole person leads to a more successful, comprehensive treatment plan.

Abigail Czarnecki, MSN, PMHNP

Abigail Czarnecki holds degrees in psychology and nursing from UW-Milwaukee and Alverno. She has been working with those experiencing mental health issues since 2009 and specializes in the treatment of substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. She also has experience treating depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, and other mental health conditions. Integrating cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic therapy with medication management, she believes that each person’s wholeness is greater than the sum of their parts.

Shelly Debo, APNP, PMHNP

Shelly Debo, PMHNP, obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Alverno College where she is currently completing her doctorate with a focus on psychedelic assisted therapy. Shelly is the director of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program at Alverno College where she shares her passion for learning, teaching and empowering others.

Shelly has experience in various mental health settings including inpatient and detox units, outpatient settings, partial hospitalization programs, and community programs. She applies an up-to-date and evidence-based approach both in her practice and her classroom. She is passionate in both learning about and applying the connection between gut microbiome and mental health and uses supportive psychotherapy to promote mental wellness.

Shelly has participated in the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accreditation for local PMHNP residency programs, holds a membership with the International Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International, and has been asked to review and provide feedback on the development of psychiatric-mental health case studies for primary care providers at Stanford University School of Medicine.

Shelly provides a safe, supportive and non-judgmental environment that allows for healing and growth. Her patients find her laid back style relatable and comforting. She is passionate about empowering others as they work through their addictions, work towards mental wellness, and improve overall wellbeing. Her specialties include substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, PTSD, mood disorders, sleep disorders, and supportive psychotherapy including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral activation (BA), and mindfulness.

Denise Gilanyi, MSN, PMHNP

Practice Location(s): Kenosha

Denise Gilanyi is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner practicing in the Kenosha office. Denise has been in the healthcare field for more than 20 years, supporting patients within various settings. She has extensive experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, Veterans, First Responders, individuals with psychiatric concerns/illness, substance abuse disorders, medication assisted treatment, and drug court. Denise has extensive experience in the field of corrections and has a special interest in assisting with rehabilitation in individuals who struggle with co-curring mental health and substance abuse disorders. Denise was involved in various community organizations such as the opiate task force, and other committees working closely with various community organizations to provide resources, options, and treatment for individuals with substance use disorders within the community. Denise finds it very rewarding to be a support throughout patient rehabilitation and being able to assist in and watch individuals stabilize, recover, and find their best self.

Jeremiah Gwaro, PMHNP, FNP

Jeremiah Gwaro, PMHNP, FNP, is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner at West Grove Clinic in Appleton, Wisconsin. He holds a Master of Science in Nursing degreefrom Marian University of Wisconsin and a Psychiatric Certification from Regis College in Massachusetts. With over 10 years of experience in psychiatric care, Jeremiah has honed his expertise in adult outpatient psychiatric care, substance use disorders, addiction, and anxiety.

Jeremiah's approach to care is compassionate and evidence-based, focused on restoring patients' strengths, fostering resilience, and improving overall well-being. He offers flexible scheduling, including evening and weekend appointments, to enhance access to care. Jeremiah collaborates with experienced clinicians to provide comprehensive care tailored to individual patient needs.

During the initial visit, Jeremiah conducts a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, determines treatment goals, and educates patients on their diagnoses and available treatment options. He continually updates his skills to provide up-to-date, evidence-based care, striving to maintain a compassionate and patient-centered approach.

Amiya Johsnson, MSN, PMHNP-BC

Amiya Johnson, MSN, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner whose professional background spans intensive care, neuro-medical, and psychiatric settings. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Carthage College and later completed her Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Psychiatric-Mental Health from Herzing University.

Amiya is deeply committed to advancing mental health care through a holistic, patient-centered model. Her clinical interests include mood and anxiety disorders, trauma-informed care, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for individuals in substance use recovery. She also has experience incorporating medical nutrition therapy (MNT) into treatment, using nutritional interventions and medical foods to support mood, cognition, and overall mental health. Amiya thoughtfully combines evidence-based pharmacologic management with psychotherapeutic approaches such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Guided by the belief that stability and growth are uniquely defined by each individual, Amiya partners closely with her patients to foster resilience, empowerment, and long-term well-being. She is passionate about creating a therapeutic environment characterized by safety, education, and collaboration—where patients feel both respected and equipped to achieve their goals.

Brandon Neisewander, MD

Practice Location: Milwaukee

Brandon Neisewander, MD is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist with a diverse and comprehensive background in the field of mental health. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Notre Dame, followed by earning his medical degree with honors from the University of Illinois Chicago College of Medicine. Dr. Neisewander further honed his expertise during his psychiatry residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, where he served as the Chief Resident of Psychiatry.

Currently, Dr. Neisewander is pursuing an Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he continues to expand his knowledge and skills in treating substance use disorders, with a particular emphasis on opioid use disorders. Over the course of his career, he has worked in a variety of practice settings, including inpatient psychiatric units, outpatient clinics, partial hospitalization programs, in addition to providing psychiatric care to homeless and incarcerated patient populations.

Dr. Neisewander's areas of interest and expertise include psychiatric medication management and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). He is committed to a holistic approach in his practice and will incorporate psychotherapy into his treatment sessions. His proficiency in Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) allows him to provide comprehensive and tailored care to his patients.

Tylor Rockwell, PMHNP, APNP

I am an advanced practice registered nurse who is board certified in psychiatric/mental health through the ANCC. I received my BSN from Milwaukee School of Engineering and my MSN from Alverno College. My work experience has been in the community and inpatient behavioral health working with high acuity psychiatric patients. I have spent extensive time working with adults, adolescents, and children who were struggling with common mental illnesses such as anxiety, depression, OCD, other mood disorders, and substance abuse. Working with the child and adolescent population I have been trained to treat impulsive and aggressive behaviors that may cause significant disturbances both at home and in educational settings. My belief is that treating psychiatric diagnoses requires a multifaceted approach and I enjoy teaching patients not only about pharmacological treatment, but the non-pharmacological treatments that will help them on their road to recovery.

David Schulz, MD, PSYCHIATRIC CARE

Dr. Schulz has experience in a variety of behavioral health treatment settings allowing him to care for patients with a wide spectrum and degree of psychological illness.

Dr. Schulz grew up in the Milwaukee area and graduated from Homestead High School in 1983. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee attaining a B.A. in Psychology then obtained his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in May 1992. Dr. Schulz has always been intrigued with the complexity and amazing power of the human mind with its capacity to have major impact on the physical body in both health and disease. He pursued this interest by entering a psychiatry residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin graduating in August 1996.

Dr. Schulz has experience in a variety of behavioral health treatment settings allowing him to care for patients with a wide spectrum and degree of psychological illness. He staffed the Mental Health Complex Psychiatric Crisis Service for over ten years. He was able to help a broad age-range of patients from children, adolescents, and adults to the elderly. Dr. Schulz constantly evaluated patients brought by police officers under “medical observation.” He was able to efficiently evaluate and triage these patients to the appropriate treatment environment for their particular degree of illness. This gave him a unique opportunity to understand the impact illness has on both the patient and their family. He enjoyed providing crisis marital and family sessions.

Dr. Schulz began a private practice in psychiatry as well as treating patients as a consulting psychiatrist for Covenant Behavioral Health/Family Health Plan managed care system. He excelled in integrating psychotherapy with medication management, realizing that spending a few more moments in the office speaking and answering questions, facilitated the development of a mutually satisfying patient-physician relationship. Dr. Schulz has expanded his knowledge in psychotherapy by attending courses in Jungian therapy at the Chicago Psychoanalytical Institute to constantly improving his therapy skills. He integrates dream analysis and assists in uncovering latent patient strengths into his treatment. He recently began integrating a wellness program, following recovery from the acute illness, to allow clients to prevent return of the problem as well as improve their overall physical health. The patient’s needs and input are extremely important in developing an individualized wellness plan. His philosophy is to assist the client to take full responsibility for their health by showing them they always have the freedom to choose wellness behaviors. Dr. Schulz has a unique, personable style which helps put patients at ease and facilitates the development of a collaborative relationship focused on assisting the client back to health.

Jayme Servia, DNP, PMHNP-BC

Jayme Servia is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner seeing patients at West Grove Clinic in Milwaukee, WI. She received both her Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. 

Jayme’s approach centers on creating a safe, inclusive, non-judgmental space where individuals can openly discuss their struggles. Using evidence-based strategies, Jayme treats individuals with substance use and/or mental health disorders.  Jayme is knowledgeable in current and emerging medications for treatment of substance use disorders, including naltrexone and buprenorphine products.  Jayme also has experience treating depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, and other psychiatric conditions. With over 7 years of inpatient, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient psychiatric nursing experience in Milwaukee County, Jayme brings a unique perspective that emphasizes holistic, trauma-informed care that prioritizes both the mind and body.  Through education, fostering trust, and building strong therapeutic relationships, Jayme empowers her patients to build resiliency, create a meaningful life, and achieve lasting recovery.  

With familial roots in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Jayme is passionate about improving access to substance use and mental health treatment in rural settings. Jayme also has a special interest in reducing provider and community stigma related to substance use and mental health disorders. Outside of work, Jayme enjoys going on hikes with her dog, trying out new restaurants, and traveling.

Choua Yang Vang, DNP, FNP

Hello, my name is Choua Yang Vang, and I am a Family Nurse Practitioner, certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. I earned my Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Alverno College and currently I hold a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Chamberlain University. As a nurse, I have worked in family practice, neuro med-surgical unit, urgent care and home care as a nurse practitioner. I am dedicated to provide a holistic approach and individualized care to patients with mental health conditions. I believe in providing patient-centered care that focuses on collaboration and encourages patients to successfully achieve their treatment goals and live a fulfilling life. I am committed to continuous professional growth and opportunities to strengthen my knowledge and skills in the advancement study of mental health.

Wendy Ward, MSN, APNP, PMHNP-BC

Wendy is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with over 10 years of psychiatric care. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and her master’s degree from Herzing University, where she was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Wendy is also an active member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the American Nurses Association, and the Wisconsin Nurses Association.

The foundation of Wendy’s practice is kindness and respect. She is committed to building strong, trusting relationships with her patients, working collaboratively to help them achieve their goals. Wendy believes everyone has the right to a full and meaningful life. She understands how mental health challenges, emotional pain, and struggles like substance use can make that seem out of reach.
